Hi – I’m Kelli and this is my little blog. I started blogging because I wanted to
document and share the stuff we do in our house. We do all of our decorating and renovating
ourselves – DIY!
As long as I can remember I have loved looking at shelter
magazine and decorating my house. Always
living on a budget makes it challenging, but through the years I have made it a
priority to cozy-up our place. Once I
discovered that people were writing blogs about decorating their homes, I was
hooked! I felt like I had found
paradise! After reading tons of wonderful blogs I decided to join in. In May 2011 I started Life at 818. It’s a fun hobby and I have met tons of
wonderful people.
I was born in Michigan, but moved to North Carolina with
my family when I was 8, so I grew up in the south {northern baby, southern
child}. My mom started my love of thrift
shopping at a very young age. Growing up
we were working class folk living on a budget, but my mom had a great eye for
decorating using thrift-store finds that she would refinish herself - she was
always ahead of her time. On the
weekends she would drag my two younger sisters and me to the Goodwill, St.
Vincent de Paul’s, and every yard sale in between. To this day one of our favorite things to do
when we get together is shop the antique/flea markets.
I have three beautiful children: Amanda {who is married to my sweet son-in-law, Adam}, Tyler, and Robbie. In 2005 I married my true love, Ken. He is a contractor and one of the smartest
people I know. If he can’t fix it/build
it/find it, then it probably can’t be done! He came with 3 beautiful children
of his own, triplets Rachael, Chelsea, and Wes.
Together we make up one big, crazy family!
We live and work in suburban Atlanta and one day hope to
retire to the coast. Thanks for stopping
by our little part of the internet! Let
us know what you think!
PS: If you are in
need of a contractor for renovations on your house and you live in metro
Atlanta, get in touch with me and I’ll pass your name along to Ken.
