Lots of Projects!

How've you been??  I've been doing pretty good..!  This is the end of spring break week and I have missed my youngest son...  He went to the beach with a friend for the whole week!  How nice is that?  He came back yesterday afternoon and I couldn't wait to see him :o)  We picked him up and then went out for wings - great night!

As I was going through the pictures on my camera I realized that I have lots of projects going on here..  One small one was finished yesterday, but there are a couple that are just kind of lingering on...

Here is the state of my buffet.  It sits in the basement hallway.  The drawers and doors are stripped.  The top is too.  I think one side is done.  I'm tired and it's kicking my rear. I was going to work on it more today, but it started raining.  And we bought a new TV (completely unplanned) for our bedroom and had to start rearranging furniture.. More on that in another post...

Another thing I started a couple of weeks ago is a complete redo on Rachael's room.  She is away at college in Tennessee and seldom comes home.  Her room got the big queen-sized bed from my old house when the boys and I moved in here.  It was always too much bed for the room.  My plan is to paint the walls, rearrange the furniture and get a daybed set up in here.  It will be a nice place for her to hang out with her friends while she's in town.  While we were taking the bed apart I realized I had no picture of the room with the bed so I quick grabbed my camera and took this..  don't you love how we were storing the odd twin box spring under the bed??  Niiice.  and time also for the old "poofy" curtains to go~~

In this picture you can see the little white head/foot boards of the twin bed frame that I got off of craigslist a few weeks ago that will be the daybed.. I am really excited about this room!  It's going to be sooo cute!

Then I did this yesterday!  I have had it on my mind for three weeks now and finally got around to it.  I originally bought this table to go on our deck and it has lived out there for a couple of years.

But I have also been searching for a small table to go beside the crappy old recliner  (which I plan on getting rid of the first chance I get!) - I can not find anything I like that doesn't cost over $100.  Seriously!  You can see what we have had next to the chair for. ev. er.  One of my husband's pieces from back-in-the-day. It was too big for the space so I didn't even consider painting it.

I saw this gold metal table with a white top on Pinterest and thought I can do that with my little metal table! (also, you can see in this picture the little silver & glass top table I tried in that spot too - didn't like it either)

I used my Rub N' Buff on the metal base and my hubby sprayed the tile top for me.  It took me about an hour to do the base and about 15 minutes to spray the top and another hour for it to dry...

(and yes, this is our very own spray technique - the super-safe and technical unside-down-bucket-by-the-fence-who-cares-about-the-grass technique)

And this is the result

She turned out so pretty..  I can't even get over it.  I'm in love.  She fits perfectly by the ugly recliner.. and lets the beauty of the curtains that I showed you here show through! And the lamp (blogged about here) is one of my early blog posts :)

And now a side-by-side

What do you think?  Pretty cute, huh?  Now, I will be keeping an eye out for just the right chair to replace the recliner..  It will have to fill some pretty big shoes!  I am the only person in this family who thinks the recliner needs to go.. all they know is that it's comfy-cozy when they want to snuggle up and watch TV..

Let me know what you think about my various projects - I love getting feedback on this stuff :o)

Have a great week!

Love, Kelli
